Terms of Service
Last Updated: August 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of the STRATUM platform. By accessing or using STRATUM, you agree to be bound by these terms. We have kept them as plain English as possible.
1. Acceptance of terms
By using STRATUM, whether you are just browsing the site, submitting a contact form, or actively using our tools, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Use of the service
STRATUM provides intelligence tools for mineral exploration. You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe on the rights of others or restrict their use of the service. You may not attempt to reverse engineer the platform, scrape our databases aggressively, or bypass our security measures.
3. Intellectual property
We own the STRATUM platform, including its code, design, features, and proprietary algorithms. Using STRATUM does not give you ownership of any of our intellectual property.
The public geological and tenure data accessed through STRATUM remains the property of the respective government departments and data providers. We do not claim ownership over state or national data sets.
4. Your content
STRATUM lets you upload files (such as georeferenced imagery) and create content within the platform (such as projects, annotations, and areas of interest). You retain ownership of everything you upload or create. By using the platform, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating STRATUM and providing it back to you — we do not use it for any other purpose, and we do not claim ownership over it.
Files you upload to render as a map layer are processed entirely in your browser and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers. Other project data you save (such as areas of interest and annotations) is stored against your account so you can access it again later; see our Privacy Policy for how that data is retained and protected.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and process any content you provide, and for the accuracy and lawfulness of that content.
5. Beta status and As-Is provision
STRATUM is currently in active development and provided on an as-is and as-available basis. While we build infrastructure for the global exploration industry, we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, totally secure, or error-free. You use the platform and its data at your own risk.
6. Limitation of liability
Mineral exploration involves significant risk and complex decision-making. The tools and data provided by STRATUM are designed to assist that process, not determine it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, STRATUM will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the platform, including but not limited to financial loss, lost data, or missed exploration targets.
7. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to STRATUM at any time, for any reason, particularly if we believe you have violated these Terms.
8. Governing law
STRATUM is built for WA and designed for everywhere. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Western Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time as the platform evolves. If the changes are significant, we will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the site.
